The New York State Report

The New York State Report is an informative review of legislative activity in Albany, which is published about 25 times per year. It contains news and information on the "hot topics" of the week and other information such as committee and commission hearing schedules, press releases, executive orders, approval memos of the Governor, notes on Bar association opinions, lending library acquisitions, and other relevant data. The State Reports are included as part of a State Membership with New York Legislative Service, Inc.

The second part of each report, categorizes all new bill introductions into the following categories with subheadings of the Statute titles and lists them in the following format: First, the bill number is listed, then a one or two line synopsis of the bill.

Example:

S5720 Reduces the alternative minimum tax to three percent for 1996, one and one-half percent for 1997 and then eliminates it

In their own sections, a similar synopsis is given for each Chapter Law and Veto, as they occur.

Example:

Chapter 12

Amd Soc Serv Law generally; amd § 240 Domestic Relations law; amd § 651-a Family Court Act; amd §45.07 Mental Hygiene Law
